Privacy Policy

Privacy policy for StemSlice, including audio uploads, temporary storage, analytics, payments, and 24-hour deletion.

Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how StemSlice collects, uses, stores, and deletes information when you use the website and audio separation tool.

Information We Collect

We may collect basic usage data such as pages visited, upload events, preview events, device type, browser type, approximate region, referrer, and error logs.

For abuse prevention and free-tier limits, we derive keyed, pseudonymous hashes from IP address, browser fingerprint signals, and a local browser token. Raw IP addresses and raw browser tokens are not stored in audio job records.

If you create an account or purchase credits, we may collect account information such as email address, authentication status, credit balance, order records, and download history.

Audio Uploads and Generated Stems

When you upload audio, the source file and generated stems may be stored temporarily in object storage. Files are used only to provide the separation result, preview, and download flow.

User uploads and generated results are private by default. They are not published, indexed, sold, or used in a public demo wall.

24-Hour Deletion

Uploaded source files and generated stems are designed to be permanently deleted after 24 hours. This is enforced through storage lifecycle rules and scheduled cleanup jobs.

Demo Audio

Public demo clips are made from original, CC0, or royalty-cleared material prepared by StemSlice. User-uploaded songs are never added to public demo listings.

Third-Party Processing

StemSlice may use third-party providers to operate the service, including:

  • Replicate or another AI inference provider for audio separation.
  • Cloudflare R2 or S3-compatible storage for temporary uploads and outputs.
  • Stripe for payments and credit purchases.
  • Analytics providers such as Google Analytics or Plausible for aggregate usage measurement.
  • Authentication and email providers for account access and transactional email.

These providers process data according to their own policies and our configuration.

Optional analytics, advertising, affiliate, and customer-service scripts are disabled until you accept them in the privacy choices dialog. Your choice is stored in your browser under stemslice_analytics_consent. You can reopen privacy settings from the control at the lower-left corner of the site and change the choice at any time.

How We Use Information

We use information to operate the tool, process uploads, create previews, unlock downloads, enforce free limits, prevent abuse, process payments, improve performance, measure conversion funnels, respond to support requests, and comply with legal obligations.

If we receive a valid legal or DMCA request, we may preserve or disclose limited information as required by law. Because files are normally deleted after 24 hours, old source files or generated stems may no longer be available.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may request access, correction, deletion, or export of personal information associated with your account. Contact us to make a request.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards, including encrypted storage where available, signed upload/download flows, and limited retention. No internet service can be guaranteed completely secure.

Children's Privacy

StemSlice is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child provided personal information, contact us and we will take reasonable steps to remove it.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page.
